ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk
From Bondi to Bronte (taking in Tamarama and McKenzie beaches) this spectacular cliff walk is a prime whale and dolphin sighting spot from June to August. There are excellent coffee shops in Bronte, but if you’re feeling more adventurous, continue walking through Waverly Cemetery, around Clovelly Beach, and on to Coogee. In total, this is a light walk (some stairs) of about 45 minutes (return from Bronte, or one-way to Coogee). Suitable for jogging.

The Bondi Farmers Market
The Bondi Farmers Market is held every Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm at Bondi Beach Public School. The Market brings you fresh seasonal fruit & vegetables, organically grown meat & poultry, just picked flowers, artisan breads, homemade jams, farmstead cheeses, seafood, olive oils, herbs, spices and much more.

The Bondi Markets
The Bondi Markets are open every Sunday in the wonderful, beachfront grounds of Bondi Beach Public School.

Come to the Markets and you’ll find original designer clothing, exotic imports, hand made jewellery, arts, crafts, homewares, retro furniture, vintage clothes and so much more. Bondi Markets are the place to find the next big thing so keep your eye out for up and coming designers.

SEASONAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Sculptures By The Sea
An exhibition of local and international sculptors adorns the cliff walk each year, usually around late October and early November. The installation is enormously popular with locals, and worth visiting early in the exhibition, or during the middle of the week.

Flickerfest
Held in January, Flickerfest is a grass roots festival featuring local and international short films. Screened mainly outdoors in the ampitheatre behind the Bondi Pavilion, the week-long festival is accompanied by talks and workshops.

Alternative and Fringe Art
In January, Alternate and Fringe Arts events are held at Bondi Beach, in association with the Festival of Sydney. The Fringe Festival has been a lot of fun, but current status is unknown after the ‘suits’ in the local council took exception to nude night surfing and 10,000 people turning up for the fun. Stay tuned!

The City 2 Surf
Held on the first Sunday in August every year, the City to Surf is a 13km run from Hyde Park in the centre of the city to Sydney’s icon Bondi Beach. One of the biggest day of the year in Bondi when people of all ages and from all parts of Sydney come together to participate.

Bondi Winter Festival
Australia's only beachside ice rink! Skate in the sunshine, or under the stars at night – an ice rink is erected in front of Bondi Beach each winter.
The ice rink opens from 20 June to 12 July. Skating sessions start on the hour and each skating session is 45 mins.

Music On The Streets

As part of the Winter festival in July the streets of Bondi come alive with buskers.

The day features amateur and professional musicians, school choirs, orchestras, musical families, solo performers and garage bands.
